Our Vision is to construct H.O.P.E. Park which will enable us to do the following:

Hope Park Schematics

  • Provide a baseball field specially designed for special needs children and adults and create a league for them to play in

  • Provide a competitive wheelchair softball field to help reintegrate our wounded veterans and citizens back into competitive sports.
  • Provide a state of the art playground incorporating equipment designed for use by special needs individuals that involve movement (vestibular system), climbing (proprioceptive system) and a mix of tactile, visual and auditory experiences.   On this playground all children can access a variety of sensory experiences encouraging them to play, learn and grow together.
  • Provide a community garden. In conjunction with UGA's County Extension Service we will provide a place for teaching local residents how to grow, cook, and preserve their own food utilizing small family gardens. Beds will be available for individuals in the community to grow and harvest food on site. The garden will also have community beds that will contribute excess food to local families in need.
  • Establish a certified commercial kitchen to provide on the job culinary training and provide a facility for local residents to safely package and sell food products.
  • Provide affordable baseball and softball training and life skills to local athletes. Promote our players to college coaches in pursuit of athletic scholarships to help with the high cost of attending college.
  • Provide job training and work skill development by using local youth to perform the tasks required to run a large facility.
  • Partner with local schools and businesses to develop other learning and training venues related to sports, special events, food service, physical therapy and any other venue that makes sense and can be successfully implemented.
